Many businesses and organizations are offering Americans all kinds of goodies as an incentive to get more people vaccinated.

Continue reading to find out what free or discounted stuff you can get with your COVID-19 vaccination.

10. Money


Depending on what state you live in, you could get free money just for getting vaccinated against the coronavirus. For example, Colorado residents will be automatically entered into a statewide lottery under the “Colorado Comeback Cash” sweepstakes.

Five lucky people will win $1 million. To qualify for entry, residents must be at least 18 years old and have received at least one shot of Pfizer or Moderna or the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Ohio is also offering an entry into a lottery for $1 million. And, kids between the ages of 12 and 18 get a chance to win a four-year full scholarship to any of Ohio’s public universities.

Meanwhile, Maryland is offering a $100 incentive to state employees who get vaccinated. And, in West Virginia, residents between the ages of 16 and 35 can get a $100 savings bond if they get vaccinated.

9. Coupons and Gift Cards


Midwestern, family-owned superstore Meijer is giving away coupons for $10 off to anyone who completes their COVID-19 vaccination series at one of their pharmacies.

Those who got vaccinated elsewhere can bring their immunization card to a Meijer Pharmacy and receive a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase.

You can get a $5 Target coupon when you get your immunization at one of the CVS at Target locations offering COVID-19 vaccines.

If you live in Detroit and offer rides to people going to get vaccinated, you can get a $50 gift card. To do so, you must first set up the appointments for those who need rides through the Good Neighbor Program by calling 313-230-0505.

8. Food and Drink

There are quite a few places where you can get free food and beverages just by showing proof that you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19. Here are just a few of them:

  • Participating Shake Shack locations in New York City are handing out free crinkle-cut fries with the purchase of a burger or chicken sandwich in-store
  • Krispy Kreme is giving out one free glazed donut to customers who show a valid COVID-19 vaccination card.
  • Newly vaccinated people can get a free beer after getting immunized at the walk-up clinic at the Kennedy Center’s outdoor Reach area in Washington, DC.
  • New Jersey residents who got their first shot during May can get a free beer at participating breweries.

7. Flights

Are you looking for the opportunity to fly around the world for free? Well, here’s your chance. Thanks to United Airlines’ “Your Shot to Fly” sweepstakes, you and a friend could win a year’s worth of free flights to any of the airline’s global destinations in any class of service.

To be eligible, you must be a MileagePlus member and upload your vaccination card to your account by June 22. Only five people will be chosen. Meanwhile, an additional 30 people will win a free roundtrip flight for two, in any class of service, to any of United Airlines’ global destinations.

6. Museum Passes


The American Museum of Natural History in New York City is giving out free vouchers to anyone age 12 and older who gets immunized at the walk-in vaccination clinic the museum is hosting.

The vouchers are good for complimentary admission to the museum for groups of up to four people. The clinic is held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Also, the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, IL, is offering free admission through June 30 to anyone who has had at least one COVID-19 shot.

You must bring your vaccination card with you at the time of the visit. The name on your card must match the name on your photo ID.

5. Free and Discounted Sports Tickets


New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on May 5 that Yankees and Mets fans who have been vaccinated could get a free ticket to a future game.

“We will set up at the game, a facility as you’re going in, come a little bit early and get your vaccine at the game,” Cuomo said at a briefing, according to an article published by CBS News.

“And, if you get a vaccine, you get a free ticket to a Yankees or a Mets game.” Both ballparks will be giving out a limited number of single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccines at games starting May 19.

Additionally, the Cincinnati Reds are offering $10 tickets to people who have gotten at least one shot.

4. Free Uber and Lyft Rides


If you need a ride to and from your vaccine appointment, you’re in luck. Both Uber and Lyft have partnered with pharmacies to provide free rides for those getting vaccinated against COVID-19.

Walgreens customers can call Uber for free rides to and from their vaccine appointments. Uber hopes to be able to provide up to 10 million free or reduced-rate rides.

Meanwhile, Lyft has partnered with CVS, the YMCA and others to provide free rides to vaccine appointments. The rides are coordinated through community nonprofits.

3. 10% Off Groceries


While the cost of groceries is skyrocketing, getting a discount on them can definitely be a godsend. Thankfully, stores like Safeway, Albertsons and Jewel Osco are each offering customers a discount on their next grocery purchase.

If you are vaccinated at one of their stores’ pharmacies, you will get a 10% discount the next time you visit their store and make a purchase. Unfortunately, this promotion is not available in New York, New Jersey, or Arkansas.

2. Free Rentals

San Diego-based retailer Everyday California is offering vaccinated customers free paddleboard, surfboard and snorkel rentals Monday through Thursday until June 14.

The rentals must be booked online using the promo code: VACCINE. You will be required to present your completed vaccination card at the store.

Additionally, the store is also offering 20% off clothing through June 14. Simply use the promo code VAX20 when making an online purchase. For in-store purchases, just show up with proof of vaccination.

Up-Down, a chain of bars featuring vintage arcade games, is offering free game tokens to guests who visit within three weeks of their final COVID-19 vaccine dose. The promotion, known as “Tokens for Poke’ns,” gives $5 in free tokens to guests who present a completed vaccination card.

According to an article published by The Seattle Times, Up-Down’s communications manager, David Hayden, said he came up with the idea for the promotion after receiving the vaccine himself. This promotion will give customers something to look forward to after being vaccinated, he added.
