6. The Secret Service Was Involved
Some people believe that the secret service led Diana’s car to the tunnel and blinded the driver. For the most part, Diana’s driver followed the usual route from the Ritz hotel to her boyfriend’s apartment.
At one point, though, he took a strange diversion, leading people to suspect the route he should have taken was purposely blocked by MI6, forcing Paul to head to a tunnel instead.
Supposedly, when the car arrived, a bright light flashed, blinding him and causing him to swerve and crash. Later investigations discovered that the vehicle was driving too fast to had gone down that usual route regardless, so it’s unlikely that Paul suddenly had to choose another path.
Eyewitnesses at the scene were unable to conclude which other vehicles were there. Some claimed they saw one motorcycle, and others saw six; some people saw a black car race away, while others claimed to see a white one. In any case, a car driving by an accident without stopping is not enough to warrant claims of foul play.
5. The U.S. Government Was Watching Diana
Some conspiracy theorists like to believe that the American government had a hand in her death. They think that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and National Security Agency (NSA) were tracking Diana’s calls and had 39 documents relating to her.
The CIA admitted to having 1,054 pages worth of information about the princess but said none of those documents were related to the crash.
The NSA did intercept one of Diana’s calls, but it was to the Brazilian Ambassador’s wife, who was the more likely target. Other references to her name were said to be in normal conversation.
