2. The One Survivor Knew About a Plan
Diana, her boyfriend and the driver all have died in the crash, but the bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones did survive. Dodi Fayed’s father claimed that Rees-Jones knew the crash was premeditated and did nothing to stop it.
Supposedly, Rees-Jones was being threatened to be killed by the secret service if he revealed their plot. After the tragedy, he received some threatening calls and letters but reported them to the police and was not particularly concerned.
1. The Paparazzi Set Up Unsafe Conditions on Purpose
Paparazzi were chasing Diana when the accident occurred, which led to rumors that the photographers were in on an evil scheme. Diana got a restraining order against one photographer a year before the crash. She claimed he’d crashed into her car attempting to get a photo and was using calculated tactics to cause her harm.
Operation Paget found that escaping from the flashing cameras played into the fact the drunk driver was speeding. But it also found the photographers to have no ill intentions.
