Football, or as called in the United States, Soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world. As a Football fan, I try to keep myself updated with the sport as much as I can. We must always wonder if the Football club that we support is the top club right now or have we been left behind by our rivals. And there are a lot of different factors to consider if our favorite club is at the top or not. So let’s start with the most valuable football clubs.

There are certain factors that are added up while finding out the value such as the stadium, training grounds, youth facilities and so on.

Forbes Magazine published the latest list of the most valuable Football clubs on 6th May 2015. Their value are indicated on the US Dollars so let’s start with the list to find out if your team is among them.

This list is in countdown style, so the top team will be at the bottom of the list.

10. AC Milan – US $ 775M

AC Milan, the Giants of Italian football and 18 times Serie A Winners are the 10th most valuable football club in the world this year. They have been on a decline for some years now as shown by their ranking on the most valuable clubs list. They were 6th on 2012 and 2013, back then when they were still on top as one of the best clubs in the world. However, they were down to 8th on 2014 and it looks they might be set to fall down from the top 10 next year with the likes of Dortmund and PSG looking to break into the top 10.

The Seven times European Champions who finished 10th on Serie A last season, need to pick up pace and perform well if they are to remain on the top 10 valuable club list, so there is a lot of work still to be done. Till then the San Siro faithfuls need to support their favorite club.

9. Juventus – US $ 837M

Juventus, another Italian giant who have won the domestic title 31 times are the most valuable football club in italy take the 9th spot on the forbes most valuable clubs list.

Back to back winners of the domestic league, they were also able to reach the finals of the UEFA Champions League, this season but were defeated by FC Barcelona. However, the 2 times european champions couldn’t rise from their last year’s position of 9th on the most valuable list.

The Bianconeri are however favorites yet again for the domestic title and are considered a great threat in the UEFA Champions League as well. And with a relatively new stadium, they are likely to remain the most valuable italian club as well as one of the most followed club in the world.

8. Liverpool – US $ 982M

18 times First Division Champions, Liverpool, have risen to 8th spot on the list from last year’s 10th position. The overall value of the English domestic league has risen and Liverpool has benefited from this. Liverpool is one of the most decorated English clubs in history, equalled or bettered by only Manchester United recently but they still boast a large number of supporters both on home soil as well as overseas.

A young team and a new manager in Jurgen Klopp and a roaring stadium to back up the players, Liverpool have been insurgent in the recent times and hopefully the new manager could lead them to their past glory and a better ranking on this list next season.

Liverpool are one of the most successful teams in England, however, there are four other english teams on the list whom they will be hoping to jump over next year.

7. Arsenal – US $ 1310M

The second English club on the list and the first to break 1000M USD value, The Gunners are valued as the 7th most valuable club in the world, however it isn’t cause of joy as they were 5th on this list last season and 4th the year before it.

The 13 times Domestic champions are the only team to go through a whole season unbeaten in the league and boasts a legion of fan following with its electric stadium, The Emirates. Being able to qualify for the champions league against all odds even on budget cut while building their own stadium, and then boasting an attractive style of play, they have been a force to be reckoned with in recent years as they can afford to spend on players rather than on redevelopments.

The London based club is one of the most popular club in the world and will certainly look to climb back this ranking soon.

Another London based club and current English Premier League Champions, Chelsea retain the 6th spot on the list of most valuable club. Spending on huge stars on the previous decade, the club seem to be investing on youth lately with some of the top prospects on their youth academy and on loan to other clubs, they seem to be looking towards a self-sustaining system.

The 5 time Premier League Champions have been one of the most successful clubs in the premier league era and are one of the most followed club in the world right now.

However, their title defense has gone horribly wrong so they need to pick themselves up if they aren’t to be overtaken again by their fierce rivals Arsenal. But the new self-sustaining structure and reliance on youth talents need to be prioritized to create a lasting dynasty.

5. Manchester City – US $ 1380M

The Citizens or Noisy Neighbours as called by their rivals Manchester United, are on a rise from the past few years, valued as 7th, 9th and 13th most valuable team on the last few years, they have yet risen to 5th spot and will be hoping to rise yet more next season.

Since they boast Abu Dhabi United Group Investment and Development Limited as their owners, they have been free spending on their bid to lure the best talents in the world and boast a roster of the likes of Aguero, David Silva, Yaya Toure and Raheem Sterling

Boasting a one of a kind youth and training system Manchester City will be hoping to increase their already massive fan following to rise yet again next season. However the leap is quite large as the next club on the list boasts almost $ 1000M more in value to them.

Boasting one of the best squads in the world as well as a self-sustaining model along with a 75,000 capacity stadium, they are debt-free and will hope to break into the top 3 next season. It will be tough to break into the top three but they are a team that are capable as they have such a wonderful fan following as well as the infrastructures to make it.

3. Manchester United – US $ 3100M

The most successful side in England and twenty times League champions are the most popular club in the world. Manchester United retain the 3rd spot on the list which they used to be an undisputed leader a few years ago.

Struggling since the departure of manager Sir Alex Ferguson, the club seems to have stabilized this season after regaining the entry to Champions League again, they will be hoping to reestablish themselves as the most valuable team in the world as they were on 2012 and earlier.

Having produced famous players such as Paul Scholes, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Christiano Ronaldo, they are a club either loved or hated but the one cared by all.

2. FC Barcelona – US $ 3160M

The Spanish Giants, Barcelona retain the 2nd spot on the most valuable club list. The European Champions boast some of the best players on the planet right now including the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez and a stadium of nearly 100,000 capacity, they will be hoping to top their fierce rivals to the top spot.

The 23 times league champions, Blaugrana have also won the european title 5 times and are one of the most loved club in the world due to their attractive style of play.

Recently, since the movement for catalan independence, the la liga has issued an statement that the club will not be able to play on la liga if Catalonia gain independence, and there have been talks that they could join the french league.

1. Real Madrid CF – US $ 3260M

Topping their domestic Rivals by USD 100M, Real Madrid retain the top spot as the most valuable football club in the world. With players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, they are one of the most loved and most followed club in the world.

Sitting at the top for the 3rd straight year, they will be hoping to top this rankings next year as well ahead of their rival Barcelona and the resurgent Manchester United.

They have won the spanish domestic league 32 times and the european title 10 times, the los blancos are also one of the most popular club in the world and they are also famous for breaking the bank to sign some of the most marketable players in the world like David Beckham, Christiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodrigues.

So we conclude that the top three list of Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United might retain the top 3 spots for the next year as well due to the difference against the other football clubs. However the clubs like Dortmund, PSG will be vying to break into the top 10 of this list.
