I thought we had a wonderful, happy marriage. Obviously, we didn’t.”

“[He] was extremely hard, ruthless and determined that he was going to go through with this, no matter what I wanted or what I was trying to do to save the marriage. He had no interest in that whatsoever,” she added.

The couple decided to end their 30-year marriage, and the divorce was settled in 2011 for $130 million. According to a GOBankingRates article, the McCourt divorce was very ugly. There was a lot of “he said, she said” fighting going on over ownership of the team and an alleged affair with a Dodger’s bodyguard. Frank agreed to pay his wife the $130 million settlement in exchange for her dropping her claim to partial ownership. Unfortunately, the process dragged on for so long and became so expensive that Frank had no choice but to sell the Dodgers in 2012.
